Are you a Cost Accountant who enjoys digging into the numbers, improving processes, and making a real impact on business operations? We’re partnering with our client, an established, growing organization seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join its accounting team in a newly created position.

This is more than a traditional cost accounting role! You'll have the opportunity to work closely with financial and operational leadership, play an important part in an SAP system transition, and help drive financial performance across multiple manufacturing operations. For the right individual, this position offers exciting long-term growth potential, including a possible path into a Divisional Controller or Assistant Controller role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, overhead, and production expenses.
  • Monitor cost variances, identify inefficiencies, and recommend opportunities for improved profitability.
  • Develop and maintain standard costing processes and provide financial analysis to support operational decisions.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, profitability analysis, and financial summaries for management.
  • Oversee inventory reconciliations, assist with physical inventory counts, and evaluate inventory discrepancies.
  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to evaluate production costs, margins, and operational performance.
  • Play an active role in the organization's transition to SAP S/4HANA, including process improvements, data migration, and system support.
  • Assist with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to strengthen financial reporting and internal controls.

What They're Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Previous cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with accounting and operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing cost accounting experience.
  • Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • CPA or other relevant accounting certification.
  • Experience supporting accounting system conversions or process improvements.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Newly Created Position: Step into a role where your expertise will help shape and improve manufacturing cost accounting processes.
  • Career Advancement: Opportunity to grow into a Divisional Controller or Assistant Controller position based on performance and business needs.
  • Leadership Exposure: Work directly with the Controller while collaborating regularly with the CFO and operational leadership.
  • Meaningful Projects: Play an important role in SAP implementation and help improve financial visibility across manufacturing operations.
  • Established Organization: Join a well-established business with multiple operating divisions and opportunities for professional development.

If you have a strong manufacturing accounting background, hands-on SAP experience, and the ambition to grow into a financial leadership role, we'd love to connect with you!
