The spa offers yoga and yoga therapy, fitness training, red light therapy, massage therapy, and integrative bodywork. Role Description The Health & Wellness Spa Massage Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based at Oja on James Island, SC. This role provides a range of professional massage and bodywork services, including therapeutic sessions tailored to individual client needs, with a strong emphasis on relaxation, recovery, and overall wellness. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting client consultations, delivering scheduled treatments, maintaining treatment rooms and equipment, and documenting services in accordance with spa policies. The Massage Therapist collaborates with other wellness providers, supports guests in using complementary modalities such as sauna and cold plunge, and contributes to a calm, welcoming environment. Additional duties include educating clients on self-care practices, upholding hygiene and safety standards, and participating in team meetings and occasional events or workshops.
Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency in Therapeutic Massage and Body Massage techniques, with the ability to tailor sessions to individual needs and wellness goals.
Experience or training in Shiatsu or other specialized modalities that enhance holistic, integrative bodywork services.
Strong Customer Service skills, including clear communication, empathy, and the ability to build trust and long-term client relationships.
Ability to support Stress Management through massage, relaxation techniques, and client education on wellness practices.
Valid massage therapy license for the state of South Carolina and compliance with all local and state regulations.
Knowledge of spa hygiene, safety protocols, and professional ethics in a health and wellness setting.
Capacity to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends, based on spa scheduling needs.
Previous experience in a spa, wellness center, or clinical environment is preferred, along with interest in integrative and holistic health.
