You will contribute to projects including parks and recreation facilities, schools and institutional campuses, streetscapes, civic spaces, public facilities, pedestrian and bicycle improvements, and other public and community infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to take greater ownership of projects, collaborate with government clients and agencies, and help advance public-sector projects from concept through permitting and construction.

What You'll Do

  • Develop landscape architecture and site-planning solutions from conceptual design through construction documents.
  • Prepare site plans, planting plans, grading concepts, Natural Resource Inventories, Forest Conservation Plans, construction details, permit drawings, bid documents, and related deliverables.
  • Coordinate with government clients, public agencies, consultants, and CPJ's Engineering, Survey, environmental, planning, and CADD professionals.
  • Participate in client, agency, consultant, and community meetings.
  • Prepare graphics, exhibits, presentations, and supporting materials for public-sector clients and stakeholders.
  • Help manage project tasks, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Identify design and coordination challenges and develop practical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developing staff.
  • Support public-sector proposals, statements of qualifications, presentations, and interviews.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, public-sector site planning, civic design, land development, or a related environment.
  • Experience preparing landscape architecture and site-planning documents for agency review, permitting, bidding, or construction.
  • Advanced AutoCAD skills; Civil 3D experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of planting design, grading, construction detailing, accessibility considerations, and public-agency standards.
  • Strong design, graphic, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively and with increasing independence.

Even Better If You Have

  • An active Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) license or are progressing toward licensure.
  • Experience working directly with government clients and public agencies.
  • Experience with public-agency design standards, procurement requirements, permitting, and plan review.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, or similar visualization software.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff or supporting public-sector proposals and presentations.

Don't Check Every Box?

We recognize that great candidates bring different combinations of experience, skills, and perspectives. If this opportunity interests you but your background does not match every preferred qualification, we still encourage you to apply.
